The work consisted of preparing the Fundy Quay Site for future development including
but not limited to:
• Excavation, demolition, removal and disposal of various items and components within the
project boundary, including all Sanitary, Storm, Combined, and Water lines and related
appurtenances, existing concrete pile caps and foundations, reinforced concrete
infrastructure tunnel, all existing surface finishes (asphalt concrete, reinforced concrete
slabs, trees, vegetation, concrete curbs, reinforced concrete sidewalks, etc. existing
emergency fuel shutdown system, existing wooden structures, etc.
• Utility disconnects and abandonment of existing utilities connected to Water Street, including storm, sanitary, water, communications, and electrical.
• Infilling and raising the site to match the proposed finished grades for the Site. Fill ranges
from 0.0m to 3.5m followed by topsoil and hydro seeding.
• Installation of a new storm water drainage ditch/swale complete with new storm sewer
network.
• Excavation, screening, loading, hauling and dumping of identified contaminated soil at the
specified disposal facility: Crane Mountain and Envirem Organics Inc.(or approved equal).
• Loading, placement and compaction of approved stockpiled overburden material used as
backfill for trenches and other areas onsite as directed by the Engineer.
• Loading hauling and dumping of surplus excavated soil material at the specified disposal
site (Crane Mountain or Envirem Organics Inc.).
• Removal of utilities and appurtenances, pile caps and concrete foundations, and an
infrastructure utility tunnel within known contaminated soil zones. Work includes separating
debris from contaminated soil.
• Sieving and sorting excavated material to separate and remove debris items such as
bricks, glass, wood, etc from contaminated soil.
• Loading, hauling and disposal of construction debris at the Contractor’s C&D Site
