Galbraith Construction Ltd. operates licensed pits and quarries. All refined aggregates are produced to New Brunswick Department of Transportation specifications and are tested for Quality Assurance during production.
Our Spruce Lake Quarry is able to provide was with a wide range of manufactured granular materials including: Shot Rock, 1/4” minus sand, various clear stones, Crushed Rock Base and Subbase, Filter Stone, and Rip Rap and Armor stone of various sizes.
Our various gravel pits have a variety of materials produced to meet NBDTI Specification such as: Crushed Gravel Base, pit run gravel, screened sand, abrasive sand, round drainage stone, screened topsoil and marine clay/ capping materials.

In 2017, Galbraith Construction entered the concrete market to offer concrete curb, sidewalks, walkaways, and slabs for it’s commercial and municipal clients. We have a team of skilled professionals that are ready to provide you with quality concrete services for projects of any size. Additionally, we have completed numerous concrete encasement projects for underground utilities for electrical duct banks and roadway lighting systems.

Galbraith constructed a new asphalt plant in Lorneville during the winter of 2018. We provide high quality Hot Mix and Warm Mix asphalt pavements to local municipality, provincial government and local contractors as well as supply our crews. Asphalt mixes are available with and without recycled asphalt pavement incorporated.
We offer a variety or NBDTI specified mixtures, and both screened and unscreened recycled asphalt pavement to our clients.

Demolitions
We are effective in handling demolition of buildings. Our excavators are equipped with concrete crushers, breakers, metal sheers and other necessary tools to complete the project safely and efficiently. Galbraith Construction Ltd. operates a provincially licensed construction and demolition (C&D) debris disposal site. We also recycle and reprocess excavated materials from job sites into usable aggregate or clean fill.

Galbraith Construction is equipped and with tools and heavy equipment for projects of any size.
We offer the following equipment for rental: Excavators along with hydraulic rock breakers for each size machine. A variety of dozer, soil compactors, wheeled loaders and graders. Additionally, we have tandem dump trucks and tractor trailers available to hit the job site, and multiple floating trucks. We are also equipped with boom trucks for lifting needs.

Since 1961, Galbraith Construction Ltd. has served southwestern New Brunswick from St. Stephen to Sussex and surrounding areas and has successfully completed contracts with all levels of government and private enterprises. Our diverse team of highly experienced and knowledgeable staff provides the best possible service to our customers. We deliver general contractor expertise to public and private sector clients, offering a variety of services in road construction, infrastructure, demolitions, snow removal, equipment rentals, concrete work, asphalt paving and aggregate supply.
Galbraith Construction Ltd. operates mainly in a 60 mile radius of its base of operations in Saint John. By doing so, we are able to take advantage of company owned infrastructure such as our 40,000 square foot maintenance and repair shop, a provincially licensed construction and demolition (C&D) waste disposal site, and licensed rock quarries and gravel pits.
PAST PROJECTS
RETAIL DRIVE INTERSECTION/REALIGNMENT
2024-2025
Starting in November 2024, up until fall of 2025, Galbraith Construction completed all civil infrastructure and resurfacing to realign Retail Drive's intersection with Ashburn Lake road and Rothesay Avenue.
PORT SAINT JOHN SLIP INFILL & FINISHING WORKS A&B
Galbraith Construction has played an intricate and important role in the Enhanced Westside Terminal Modernization project. Key involvement included: demolition of surface features and mass excavations, storm water drainage and watermain installation, site grading and asphalt placement.
CITY OF SAINT JOHN STREET RECONSTRUCTION
Galbraith Construction has been the general contractor for various full street reconstructions throughout the Uptown area; including storm and sewer main separations, watermain relocations/extensions, concrete curb and sidewalk installation, and asphalt paving.
SAINT JOHN GENERAL HOSPITAL DEMOLITION
In December 1995, Galbraith Construction successfully demolished the Saint John General Hospital by a controlled implosion and debris removal. Galbraith Construction is and has been heavily involved in demolition work.
NORTH END TRUCK SEWER EMERGENCY REPAIR
Following the collapse of the north-end truck sewer in 1992, Galbraith Construction was able to complete an emergency repair on the 8ft box culvert, successfully having the sewer fully functioning as soon as possible.
SPRUCE LAKE QUARRY
Galbraith Construction is continuously creating aggregate at our rock quarry, with at least 1 blast a year.
